Round Table Pizza Training Restaurant Managers From Mongolia in Manteca
Manteca, CA - Round Table Pizza, an American pizza restaurant icon known for gourmet quality and fresh innovation, announced the signing of an exclusive agreement with Mongolia International Food Holding Co., Ltd. to develop 10 restaurants in Mongolia. Round Table Pizza's entrance into Mongolia is a first for any major restaurant franchisor. Two manager trainees arrived in San Francisco on Tuesday, July 3 and will begin an 8 week training course at the Round Table Pizza located off of Airport Boulevard in the Stadium Center in Manteca. The first Round Table restaurant will open in Ulan Bator in September 2012.
The managers-in-training received special visas from the United States Embassy in Mongolia to spend 8 weeks in Manteca learning how to open and operate a Round Table Pizza restaurant. The trainees will be trained in every aspect of operating a Round Table Pizza restaurant, including making Round Table's incomparable pizza dough and sauce. "They will be taken through our basic 8 week manager’s training course, along with any modifications we have made for our Mongolian operations," said Mike Buck, Round Table Pizza Senior Director of International Operations. "The menu will be very similar, except that we will also serve Mongolian barbeque beef pizza and pasta there, and we may test some at the training restaurant in Manteca for some lucky customers."
The announcement brings the total number of international Round Table Pizza restaurants operating or slated for development to 47. "We continue to see increased interest from abroad as entrepreneurs recognize the value in the Round Table Pizza brand," notes Round Table Pizza CEO and President Rob McCourt.
"It is exciting to be involved in bringing the best pizza in the world to countries like Mongolia that have no idea what great pizza tastes like, said Elaine Stevenson, Round Table Pizza's training manager at the Manteca training restaurant. She encourages customers to visit and say hello to the trainees as we all do our part to make the world just a little smaller and a lot happier eating "the last honest pizza."
